Question about replacing O2 sensor...

Going to replace a O2 sensor, the first one that would go before the cat (if I had cats lol).

Can I just replace the sensor or is there any coding or resets that need to be done?

Just swap it out. if you have cel, you can reset it, but it should go away after few start cycles, so you don't even have to do that.

find someone with skinny arms to help you out. swapping sensors on AA headers is a bitch since they are not easily accessible.

You weren’t kidding! I had ordered an offset O2 wrench off Amazon prime last week and the job is done! Even with this it took a long time to figure out how to get it off with extensions and wobble fittings.

With a standard O2 socket I doubt there is any way to remove that sensor while the headers are on the car.

I used that same part. You can't use the other socket (with straight down cutout).

Removing them was not as bad. Get a flexible head socket wrench and you should be fine. Also, it's advisable to have 2nd person when installing the sensor back on to hold the wire.

Another tip: Once you put the sensor back in, since the thread is very shallow, you might have a feeling that you may have cross thread it. Before you go my route and end up removing headers, just check it if you actually did. Most likely you didn't cross thread it. You can start the car and see if there is noise or use camera to take a closer look.
