New Video of G05 X5 Unveiling @ Die Welt

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
The video gives a decent look at the stance from the adjustable suspension, 2 wheel options, and skyview...but most impressive is watching these two...I think they have the hots for each other!

Such a beautiful car. I think the awkwardness comes from having to speak English and not really having a very thorough script before the shoot. I hope a similar, more in depth video comes out soon. I would love to see a completely loaded (absolutely every option available) X5 described in detail so I can really begin to learn about all the new innovations. It really is a very cool ride.

Or is it the language of LOVE?!?!

You looking into unloading your X3 M40i so soon too?!? I'm very interested in a G05 MSport w/22". I knew this would happen coming from an F15 MSport (and E70 Msport before that). I just need to convince the wife--since it's her car! Haha!

I haven’t even taken delivery yet! 😂😂

Honestly, the way I would want/have to order this new X5 is out of my budget. My M40i is loaded and I would want the same when it comes to this car and that’s just not realistic at this point in time. I’m trying to convince a friend of mine who is ordering one to throw caution to the wind and load his up; I think he’ll enjoy it and then I can get up close and personal with all the new innovations!

Gotcha!
You'll love the M40i. I just miss the following from our previous X5 (and now with the G05!!):
Meaty MSport stance
Leather dash/interior
More aggressive exterior
Dare I say the 710 steering wheel Haha!!

I love it, but is the M Sport really going to have an ///M emblem on the fenders?

My E70 M Sport has ///M logos in various locations from the factory (wheels, steering wheel, door sills, etc.) but not on the exterior like that. BMW going too far with this M badging IMO.

I'm surprisingly liking the new X5 very much. But I'm still uncertain if I will add it to garage. The new technology and features are really a nice touch, and I want that new iDrive 7.0 for my G30 540i so badly. Why haven't we reached the era of software updates to get the new iDrive?

For the US-market, no we will not get the fender M logos, but you can count on the M logos practically everywhere else!

According to the presentation.... If you put a bag in the back the anti-slip rails are "activated." I think something is lost in translation. However helpful, I believe those anti-slip rail are simply passive devices that have zero awareness of a bag being on them or not.

The retractable cargo cover looks like a great idea. The only negative I see is having to keep the travel route clear. This feature will be copied.

Sorry to nitpick.

Yea, it is difficult to really see what's going on with that thing. Probably impressive in person though.

Edit: after closer examination of the video it appears as though the graphic detail is below a glass "cap."

The cup holder heat/cool buttons seemingly need to be water resistant. No?

Good video. I like the demonstration of the NFC phone capability. But would you really have to take your phone out and put it against the car like that? Defeats the purpose of keyless entry, where you can just grab the door handle and pull, and it unlocks.

I gotta have me some heated (but especially cooled) cupholders. Need to keep a cold bottle of water or Diet Coke going at all times.

I also appreciate that this is the first video I've seen that really shows the 3-dimensionality of the taillights. Makes me at least a little hopeful that I might like the rear end a bit more in person.

No, they actually raise...if you check out one of the other videos floating around, you'll see when they lift the floor cover two mechanisms underneath

Very awkward video but very impressive. Completely different perspective. Looking forward to picking up an M50i end of year

The video didn’t explain everything about those. In actuality those are active rails that lower when the lift gate is opened so that they are flush with the floor and when the lift gate is closed they raise a millimeter or more to prevent bags from sliding around.

Yes, NFC requires you to hold your phone up to it, just like if you're using it to pay for something. Comfort Access is easier, yes, but I imagine the idea behind it is so you aren't stranded if you lose your key, or don't want to carry around a key at all, in which case taking out your phone is probably a worthy tradeoff. In fairness, the majority of people are on their phones every 6 seconds, so it wouldn't be a big deal. I take my phone out of my pocket whenever I get in the car anyway, so it wouldn't bother me.
