Still about 3mpg better than the E63s

4K Miles on my car and I just love it so far. One of the best daily drivers I’ve had.
I love the m sport exhaust and it should be standard on the car !

You shouldn't drive it in sport mode while the break-in period IMO.

Mine has only 31 kilometers , and so far I love it !

You're averaging 12.4 mpg? I don't have the car yet but I'm assuming you're driving the car the way it was meant to be driven

So are you partial to the M5 over the E63, or still a toss up?

Did you find the setting to make the entire number range light up the same brightness on the tach and speedometer? Did that the first 20 minutes I was driving the car LOL.

And just while I am there does anyone find it odd that the display that shows the "sport plus" vs "Comfort" etc is much more dim than the icon below it? Odd.

The MSport Competition Exhaust is a nice upgrade over stock. Equal at idle and light throttle, comes alive at heavy throttle. I was going to add an Akra like my X5M, but I'm rethinking it now after a few miles.

BTW, I've never heard an e63s, does the MSport option close the gap any in sound ?

I’m liking the M5 now over the E63. Once the performance exhaust was installed it really improved the cars character which to me was what was missing. It just does everything so well. It’s subdued so I have no issues driving it at work, it’s a monster when pushed and a very civilized luxury car when I want it to be. Only issue I have with the car in general is the AC other than that it’s an amazing all around car.
In my opinion a much better package than the E63

Same mileage same MPG for me up in NorCal. I wish BMW would employ some buzzword Data Science algorithms in its fuel gauge though. It always estimates 350 miles or more for me on fill up and I’ve never even broken 280.

Honestly, no but it sounds a lot better now than stock. The Amg just has a deep muscle car rumble at idle that is addictive.

Thank you , Onfire !

Sounds amazing !

My dealer said that it's not homologated yet in Belgium ...

Akrapovic has no option currently , and Manhart neither.

What type of AC issues are you having? I had the F10 M5 and he AC was fine. I'm now in an X5 and the AC is horrible.

I've heard a few comments about the new M5 being weak in the AC and it is making me a bit nervous.

I've only been driving in 86-88F so keep that in mind for the 9x and 1xx climates. I had to adjust all of my vents to wide open, set the air direction to "face", set the center temp button to Blue and Sync both sides. After that my routine is : Hot day parked outside, push the MAX AIR button after starting to cool down fast, then turn MAX off...after that I'm as cold as I want it to be with the fan/temp controls. Before setting it like that above, I was constantly fighting too cold vs too warm.

It’s honestly in my opinion not an auto climate control system. In all my other cars I set the temp and then it adjusts the fan speed, temp needed etc until that temp is met and then it regulates it. I’m always playing with this system, first max ac then auto but adjust fan speed, then it gets too cold so warm it up then too hot. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in a car since maybe 1995.
I brought it to the dealer to make sure the settings were fine and they are it’s just the sensors of the auto climate system do not adjust properly. My wife hates this car on a hot day which we get a lot here in LA just because it takes 10 minutes to cool down, then we play with the temp control on and off. Lucky I opted for the sunroof as 90% of the time I have to drive with the roof open and windows down to aid the car from cooling down.
That’s my rant other than that a great car.

I find the car does not adjust itself well, I have to mess with the controls up or down depending on how hot and/or sunny it is.
Adding a 70% tint to the rear and a 25% to the front side windows helped keep it cooler when it is sunny.
