What's a Good Deal for an Ordered 2019?

Most 2018's on AutoTrader are shown at MSRP but some are $1,000 to $5,500 off. What do you think I can get off an ordered 19 exclusive of the $2,000 or so USAA which I'm eligible for? I'm in San Diego but a roadtrip for a good deal sounds like fun.

In California you aren't likely to get much off on an ordered car right now. Most dealerships have a waiting list of people who are placing orders on 19 model cars right now because the 19 allocations aren't all out yet. After a couple of months I think you will likely be able to negotiate below msrp, but it will be tough right now.

USAA discount will be reduced to $500 regardless of finance/lease vs cash next month. Not lockable with orders.

I heard that too. Is fleet taking the same hit?

I know that the discount received is the discount in effect when the car is delivered, not ordered. I've seen it with Mercedes that the discount sometimes drops when the new model year arrives but increases a couple of months into the model year. Thus, based on the time between order and delivery I might get a discount better than $500. Thanks for the info.

Unfortunately, it's going to $500 until January 2, 2019.

Good to know. I appreciate it. If the car's coming in before 1/2/19 I'll do the 3 year BMWCCA membership instead of the USAA.

I think you can get some dealers to give you $4000 to $5000 of a nicely optioned car. Some still trying to hold MSRP but spend a bit of time and they will deal

I absolutely agree. The dealers are in the catbird seat to some degree now but each passing day is advantageous to a buyer. I'd like to get it wrapped up but I'm driving something I'm very happy with so I can be patient.

Not if you are ordering a competition... but I placed my order today anyways, after 6 dealer discussions.

I'm too old for the CP. I'm fine with the base M5.

It also depends on how many dealers are in your area. I know that Northern NJ/NYC area is jammed packed with dealers trying to compete for every deal.
