Grease Leaking from Door

Yesterday was probably the warmest day on record since owning the x3.

Drove the x3 for about an hour or so mixed hwy/city. When jumping out of the vehicle, my friend noticed I had a grease patch on the back of my calf.

Didn't think too much into it, cleaned up and carried on. Then, a few hours later jumped back in and drove for about 15minutes.

Upon jumping out, same thing. Big grease patch on the back of my calf. Started inspecting the x3 and noticed there was grease on the bottom of the door jam. It must have rubbed off when I jumped out, with my calf rubbing on exit. I cleaned the grease up but upon further review, should have taken some pics of it.

Included some pics of the bottom of the door where we believe the grease was leaking from. Has anyone experienced grease leaking from the bottom of the door?

Cheers,

Not on this car yet, but I've experienced it on a new Audi and a new Toyota within the last few years. Pretty common, it's usually excess anti-corrosive/lubricant from the door panel running in the heat.

Edit: Probably Cosmoline or something like it like Carnuba : http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=265925

Wtf. Looks like it got chewed up by a dog! I don't see any reason why it should look like that! Aerodynamics? Artistic purpose?

It's fully normal. I believe it's for anti-corrosion. Just clean it and move on.

Maybe it just looks so bad because of picture quality. It could be by design- to release water that happens to get inside; I don't know.

A bit offensive but take a look at '15 lexus gs (same build price – not quality)... nothing dripping or ugly sloppy doors...
Even more – side molding come off (only 900 Mi) – afraid to imaging what else will happen in next 32 month ))

I understand it might be necessary to have drain holes, but that's a fugly looking one.
