USA did not get the silver plastic. I look at it as a blessing, but everyone has their own opinion.

They are also not available on the M steering wheel in the rest of the world.

Yep. 5 series (which a large bit of our interior is based on) is the same way.

I agree. I find the black finishing is better than silver.

More sporty looking in black. Silver colored plastic belongs in the 7 series.

Kind of a tangent but I've heard that the black buttons at least are black enameled ceramic. Similar to a black coffee mug I guess.

I know that is an option on the 5 series but I dont think ours has this.

In Spain it is an option that costs 178 €. It comes obligatorily with DA+ package (no idea if it comes as well with DA), but you have to pay it separately anyway.

Yeah, honestly I'm not sure. I thought the gloss buttons were, and that the 5 series option adds a ceramic shifter and iDrive control.

Same in UK, costs £110 and compulsory with DA+ pack

I probably wouldn't have gone for them if I didn't have to but I like them especially on the window switches adds a nice contrast

For the first time today I also noticed it has the same finish to start button, I knew it was silver but thought that was how they all came, doh
