Garage List
8 Gran Coupe

So will there be a Gran Coupe version of this beast?
If so, anyone knows the estimated date to market?

G15 840i RWD and xDrive (B58TÜ, 335hp) will arrive in 2019 as MY2020.
G16 8GC will be introduced at the same time in 2019 with full model range: 840i RWD and xDrive, M850i, and non-US 840d.

I thought it was confirmed that the US was only getting an M850i, no Inline 6 40i model? Especially confusing because the german catalogue only displays the M50i and 40d, but I guess a 40i could be coming later?

The press releases talking about 840d and M850i are global releases, everywhere is getting those 2 engines at the moment. I have no idea why 840i wasn't launched at the same time, perhaps they want to have the car be considered as a US$130k car first, then launch a cheaper one after the first few busy months of sales drop off.

afaik 840i will be a worldwide spec too

I don't see how the 6 cylinder 840i wouldn't be available in the US as it would no doubt bring the most sales. Just not immediately at launch, so as to first let the car settle in as a high-end model.
