Been like this on BMW for a long time now and is pretty much the standard for most cars in my experience.

Isn't available under lights options? On my last F31 you could choose it in the lights options

That's what i thought :
Triple turn signal activation

Lightly tap the lever up or down.

The triple turn signal duration can be adjusted.

Via iDrive:

"My Vehicle"

"Vehicle settings"

"Lighting"

"Exterior lighting"

"One-touch turn signal"

Select the desired setting.

The setting is stored for the driver profile currently used.

This is correct, however one blink and 3 blinks are the only options. For anything else you would have to code the vehicle.

Apparently this has been changed since a firmware update in 2017. You can no longer code these changes if your vehicle has been updated. I had my 16’ 4 series coded with 5 blinks but after firmware update, it no longer works.

Recoding often necessary after firmware update overwrites with factory defaults.

The files have been changed and coders have not been able to access the new files thus far. It no longer works. This has been confirmed from Almaretto and BimmerCode.

This triple flashes works the same as my previous Golfs, Passat, A4s, XC60, F20, W204. Useful, like it.

Put more blinker fluid in and you should be able to get 5 blinks out of each tap.
