Good spot, will this ever download via the sim in the car? Going to download it to usb like I did for the last one but it would be nice for a few more things on this car to work as advertised...

Possibly although I never gave it the chance, the auto update is only regional whereas the USB version will be everything

It's such a easy system, I plugged the USB in before the England game and it was completed when I checked after the end of the match, I may have had more fun watching the update progress in the end

Been lurking on this forum for a while now - ever since I placed my order for my yet to be delivered 30i. This seems like an appropriate post to step out from the shadows.

... stupid Januzaj. At least if we had tied or lost watching that boring game may have been worth it, but... he made sure we didn't.

On topic: I haven't received my vehicle yet, is this a map update, or what does the EVO update do?

It was worth it to see Batshuayi's follow up after the goal, funniest thing all World Cup

I still have a nagging doubt that England keeper is a bit on the small side

Yes this is map only, idrive updates can only be done at the dealers, would be worth asking before collection if they can check for any updates

Some weeks ago, I downloaded via the BMW download manager 2018-1 map on a usb stick (64Gb, NTFS formatted). This loaded perfectly into my X3.

I now downloaded 2018-2, formatted the SAME Usb again NTFS, files were put on usb, but car does not "see" any update.... (usb stick flashes as if it would be read from...)

The usb-port of the car seems not "damaged" as it still reads mp3's from usb....

Anyone any idea what could be wrong?

I updated to2018-1 last week then saw the post above advising that 2018-2 was available. At first attempt BMW download manager kept saying that there was not enough room on my 32gb memory stick though finder on my iMac said the disc was empty. Used a new blank 128gb stick and it worked ok, car picked it up and loaded it no problem.

I thought it had to be FAT32 and not NTFS...

NTFS worked with 2018-1.....

But problem solved.... bought a new USB 64 Gb, files were put on usb (right out of the packaging; no clue how it was formatted), and usb was loaded in the car.

Still find it a strange story why in my case a usb works with 2018-1 and a week later on, the same usb not works anymore...... (allthough I could "see" the files and the usb seemed to load information into the car.....)

Bit expensive if it needs a new memory stick every time.
