Rear Sunshade 51462451590

Did anyone try Rear Sunshade 51462451590 or similar on other BMW's ?

Looks like this:

https://www.bmw-faba.de/onlineshop/b...scheibe-x3-g01

Worth buying or better to tint glasses with film ?
btw, what is the transparency level of glasses tinted from factory ?

They have worked great in my F30 for the last 4 years.

I prefer window tint. X3's with upgraded packages have 20% window tint on rear side and rear back windows. I added 20% aftermarket tint on front sides.

I ordered and received this part from "MyBimmerParts" and while the package is labeled "1 Set" only 1 shade was included. This seems pretty bad if they are selling single shades for $80!

Get Ceramic tint. I have Rayno and just moved to Vegas. It rocks Very impressed with the heat deflection.

I wish BMW had them for X4 G02 - would buy it immediately!

I've got one of these on the side where child seat is located. Works well. Should have just specced the inbuilt sunshades but never occurred to me for some reason.

Only € 200,- or so.. Maybe a little more.
Have them in my Audi A4 and use them a lot! Kids you know..
So for me it was a no-brainer getting them in my G01.

Surprisingly only Audi and BMW have this option, of all the SUV's I've tested.

Has anyone been able to get a hold of this recently? It's proving impossible to find one in the UK

My wife's Volvo XC90 has them but I believe it's only part of the Inscription package.

I've been looking for one in the last few days. I call my sales guy at BMW (Australia) and they said BMW stopped selling these for G series, at least for Australia. He doesn't know why because he used to sell truck loads of them.

It's a pain. I really need one ASAP with a newborn on the way next month and I don't think any third party ones will work because of how the glass in the rear is split

Are you referring to the side window shades?
If yes, try lookup whether Groovy Shades/Snapshade/Ninja Shades are available in your country.
Having said that, I think you’ll should check out infant seats with shades or retractable canopy

They're great, I've used them in my previous F30 for several years.

Is there any alternative to those shades? Currently they are discontinued and out of stock everywhere. My car will have the sun protection glass but with small baby I'm not sure if it will be enough.

I picked these up a while back for a 2021 G01 and they're perfect:

https://www.carshades.co.uk/shades-2...ar-p-8991.html

Super well fitting, can open and close the windows with no worry they'll be sucked out and make it basically impossible for passers by to see in to the car if you have a factory tint as well

BTW install them last week - pretty satisfied with them. Was wondering about the LCI and will it affect them but I would say overall - no. The only one that is a bit problematic and need some bending in order to fit by hand is the small "triangleish" one on the rear door.

Thanks again for the recommendation! Now I need to find windshield sunshade and car cover (in the summer on some vacation with hotels with open parking those cars easily gets up to 70+ degrees and you can't even touch the wheel...). If again you have used some specific one, will appreciate the recommendation, cheers
