Anti Dazzled Mirrors

The passenger side mirror of my car has no dimming function. I consulted this with my local bmw dealer and I was informed that BMW doesnt provide dimming function for passenger side mirror. I wondered WTF!?

I also wondered why the dimming tint does not fully cover the whole mirror surface instead of leaving a 1cm gap between the tinted area and the edge?

Can anyone educate me please?

The distance aspect of the right mirror makes lights naturally less bright, as it is dispersed more. Increasingly, a number of manufacturers cheap out and don't dim the right mirror. Kind of annoying.

I had my front windows tinted to match rear windows. (In the US, M40i's have rear tinted side and back windows.) Now it's even less of an issue.
