Front facing camera design is seriously flawed.

I went to park my car after some fun driving, and switching on the front camera (so as not to hit a curb) was completely useless. A bug had exploded all over the lens, making it almost useless.

BMW should be ashamed of this!!

Seriously though, it was pretty funny to find this smeared turd explosion blocking my view. And getting it there was immensely fun.

Man, between you and the guy that posted about getting hit by a rock on his camera, I think I need to make some sort of cover for mine. Then again, we had our grill shutter damaged recently by a chunk of a log and still fighting with the logging company to have them replace it. Just knocked one of the shutters out and NO other damage.

We got a quote for just about $600 and that included two hours of labor. Part itself was $220.

Nuts! This makes me miss the 80-90s when Volvos and SAABs were boxy and equipped with bumpers that were bumpers.

Imagine the damage repair costs for a trashed G01 front end. Front camera, icon headlights, collision warning radar, parking sensors and grille shutters would tally up to a lot of money.

In that case car will be probably totaled. Someone here on the forum ha e a front side impact a the car was totaled by the insurance company.

A rock just broke a front camera lens on my Z06. The camera is in the grill but the bumper has to come off to replace the camera. Dealer wants $600+. The part is $125. I'll be doing this next week
