Walking a sports car?

So I had a fun little romp last night. A Lexus LC500 pulled up beside me and rev'd it up at the light. I was just in Map1 of my tune as it was 109 degrees outside and I just had pump gas in the tank.

I know nothing about the Lexus but it looked awesome, sounded great and I assumed it was about to eat me. I gave him the nod that I would play, slapped the gear shift to the left, turned off traction control and hit the launch control almost perfectly to the green light.

I immediately walked him and was still pulling when I shut off at about 70 mph.

At the next light we rolled down the windows and he stated "that's a dang fast SUV". I said yep, it runs down low but you would have reeled me by the 1/4 mile. I drove off with a smile on my face.

To my surprise this morning, when I looked up the stats on that car, he would not have caught me. The lines are getting pretty blurry with this little car. It can eat what looks to be a true sports car that cost 35k more than it or maybe Lexus just doesn't know how to build a car....

My wife killed a WRX STI that looked all souped up yesterday. She was quite proud of herself, he apparently was unhappy about it.

To the Lexus defense, the LC is more of GT than a sports car. All reviews I've read/seen admire it for its comfort in going from A to B, with a bit of sportiness, but it's always with the added disclaimer that it's no true sportscar.

Not that that detracts anything from the excellent performance of the M40i of course

When I was stock 0-200 was equal as a fbo mustang gt. Now with map 5 and 94 octane I walk them! Didn't try against the new gt 2018 tho

had an older M3 pull up to me at the light yesterday (v8) very loud.... pulled about 1.5 cars on him....even tried again rolling at 40 and kept moving on him. Guy was a good sport opened his window gave me a thumbs up and asked wtf my car was....lmao..its debaged. I said its my family sav!

So this morning a sinister Ford Flex with 3.5 Ecoboost pulls alongside after we come out of a sharp curve, he slows a little, and then goes for it on the stretch of straight away. Bad decision. I’m now in Sport+ and I romp it. End of story. He must have been at least 4 lengths behind. I know, it’s not a Mustang GT, but always fun take off the sheeps clothing and let the wolf play.
