I guess Aplina is all about diesel in SUVs segment. https://www.motor1.com/news/242558/a...s-diesel-cars/

Wish we could get more Alpina versions in the US like the X3.

Have contacted my dealer for a quote on the X3D, no discount available and pants finance rates according to sales manager at dealership. Is this right?

It does look great doesn't it, apparently they only plan to supply 12 a year to UK so can understand no discount but residuals should be good

Alpina never discount. I paid full retail on both my Alpinas and I don't see that changing. But that's not the point. These are truly magnificent machines. It's a special feeling driving an Alpina that only gets better over time. Just try not to get carried away with the leather options... £9000 for Lavalina II anyone?!!

Men those Alpina's look great, but really no discount at all? That puts them in a very high ballpark. I think the M40d is a great alternative but the Alpina is probably a completely different machine as they tune everything from the suspension to the gearbox.

I just saw a video the other day of a Alpina D3 touring, aweswome machine! I expect the XD3 to be the same, there are no video's around yet ? First delivery's september?

Just a reminder for UK people that the UK version of the G01 XD3 will only have 328bhp whereas the LHD Euro version will have 383bhp. With no discounts for Alpinas being available then surely makes more sense to go for an M40d (326bhp) if diesels are your thing.

Yes, it's annoying that we only get the bi-turbo not the quad-turbo version in the UK. Still I'm sure it's going to be more than special enough.

Here's the link to the English configurator:

Did you place an order for the XD3? I read first deliveries are expected in Q1?
In Holland there is no official dealer for Alpina, so it's hard to find the official pricing. I can only do an assumption on the German cost price + average Dutch import taxes.

The lower power HP UK version looks like a colossal waste of money vs M40d.

Pretty stupid they made so many adjustments to the UK version. I'm hoping for a couple of reviews soon, in Holland the added tax makes it a colossal waste of money but having an Alpina instead of M40d is something more unique, probably will also keep its value better. But will be difficult to sell I guess as it's really a car for enthusiasts especially in the second hand market.

They will only be imported here in very limited numbers - maybe 2 cars per month to the UK. For some people like me this car ticks all the right boxes
