Replace single tire with x-drive?

Got a screw stuck in my tire non run flat, changed to all seasons for winter when the car came with perf summers. Two tire shops have said they can't repair, so looks like I'm ordering a new tire.

Any idea if I'll have issues with x-drive (x3 m40i) if I only replace one? I figure since they are staggered front/back, shouldn't have issues with front/back not being the same tread depth, but not sure about left/right. Roughly 4k miles on these, didn't measure the tread depth.

I would plug that hole with a tire repair kit for $10.
Or plug it and keep it as a spare, if you have to.

BTW
I don't think the diameter between your current and new tire would matter.

I would normally say to plug the tire and carry on, however, that I’d vety close your sidewalk and also on the tread instead of a grove. In this case, if advice you to replace the one tire. A difference of 4K on the tires should be negligible unless you are driving it really hard.

I’d plug that with a dynaplug.
Have used dynaplugs for many years during my work, and even had a customer do 180mph in Germany in their Aston Martin a few days after i dynaplugged a puncture for them. No issues.

RFT sidewall is a lot stronger than a normal tire and that screw is not that close and angled away, but if you have any doubt replace the tire, I would plug it without blinking an eye.

The tread depth difference between tires should be no more than 4/32nds (some car manufacturers say as little as 2-3/32nds--but that's ur call). So as long as your other three tires aren't less than 6/32nds, replacing the one rear tire (I assume it's the rear) with a new one at 10/32nds should be fine. I'm sure with 4k miles on your Conti DWS, you probably still have 9.5-10/32nds on those bad boys! I loved those tires on our previous MSport X5s

Thanks all! Tire rack is covering the cost of the tire, so will plan to replace just one.

Yes, Continental has great "replace not repair" hazard insurance included with TR. I think they know me by name given how many claims I placed with previous X5s
