Not sure about cosmetic damage. However, your collision insurance should cover damage to wheels. Just cracked two wheels on a mercedes and my collision insurance covered it. Just have to pay the deductible.

Yes the Bmw insurance does include cosmetic damage. Sometimes the dealership offers an after market insurance which are sometimes better because they cover any wheel/tire combo on your car rather than only the stock options. The Bmw one only covers stock options according to my CA. I curbed my after market wheels and luckily I had a non Bmw insurance package that covered it.

This is my opinion on tire insurance. I've owned five m cars. Every three years when I upgrade tire insurance gets more expensive. Started out at 1600 , climbed to 2200, then to 2800. After 2800 on an m6 I paid 3200 for my f10 m5. Didn't cover cosmetic and was told unless tire is losing air they won't replace the rim. I still bought the insurance and had three tires replaced. That's about 1500, In Dealer dollars so never hit breakeven The car was vibrating and took it to Dealer and they said rims were fine. So I found a local repair shop where individual straightens rims for 150 and can refinish for another 100. I paid this man to straighten two rims for me. When I leased my x5m the Dealer wanted 4200 for rim insurance , an absurd amount. I decided to buy a full set of tires on tire rack and assumed my breakeven was two full sets of tires. I commute to nyc via train so I'm not a daily driver. Dealers now are reluctant to replace rims . They send them to local rim repair shops and have them straightened for you. My brother had a 650 I gran coupe with run flats and lost 11 tires and paid 2700 tire insurance so benefitted. At some point it doesn't make sense and part of risk of driving an m car. I chose not to get insurance now. Rims are going to get bent. It happens Find a local guy to fix your rims . Buy a spare set of tires unless you get full coverage meaning cosmetic and under 3000 bucks. Good luck and you're free to disagree

uhm, you need to find a new dealer. Becuase they are bending you over backwards no lube on the tire insurance.

You must be from California Good luck getting tire insurance full cosmetic in the NE United States with potholes galore. Like I said, I don't buy tire insurance

Took delivery of 2019 M5 Competition yesterday and denied tire and wheel insurance. In all these years of leasing, I never took it on any of my earlier cars. I’ve$100 deductible with my insurance to cover the wheels. I’ll have to blow 7 tires to break even which is highly unlikely based on my driving history (Knock on wood). I took the BMW maintenance though for $700 which covers brakes and wipers!

Yes here in Texas it covered 4 cosmetic tire rash fixes. But it's like a $100 to put tire back on and realign I think. I've already used like two of mine.

Just my few cents , bought tire insurance for my 2020 m550i for 3 years coverage run $ 1900 with tax , cosmetic was free from a dealer the same company ( dymanic max)
Since I am tire freak ( still have 3 sets from my 340xi 5x120 ) after a month cancel insurance 60 days cancellation no penalty.
bought 2 19x9 rims rears for stagger appearance. $650
continental DWS none run flat with one ratio up running 245 45 19 / 275 40 19 with sidewall 110 mm over 4 inch high
keeping a spear OEM 245 45 19 in the trunk. Ride quality is great going over path-holes with small rubber marks on the rim no damage so far .
so far run me $ 1250 for life with 2 extra rims . Not 3 years.
