Trip to the drag strip tonight with V3
I went to the drag races tonight. The only change from my previous set up was replacing the JBX with a Procede V3. I felt the car was defiantly quicker, well now I know it really is. My car is 100 percent street trim. No race gas, no drag tires. Heck didnt even touch tire pressure in my tires at all and were running on my street set up of BBS CH and PS2s. I wanted a legitimate 12 second street car. My car also is a 6MT.
My last trip out, the best I could manage with the JBX was 13.02@109mph with a 1.9-2.0 60' time. The temperature today/tonight was also quite a bit warmer. Also note, I didnt launch the car at all. I revved it to about 2300rpm and slowly let the clutch out while feathering the throttle, which basically amounts to be rolling out about 15-20' before I get on the throttle which is reflected in my 2.18 60' time. No point in trying to launch higher, just get massive wheel spin. I also do not power shift (no lift shifting). Im guessing with a few more practice runs I couldve knocked it down to about 12.6 or 12.5 at least. I only got to make two runs total. Next stop is the dyno to measure how much more power the V3 made on my car. BTW MY setup: Procede V3. Spearco IC. Dual K&N. CPE Tial BOV. Riss Racing DPs. AE Exhaust. Impressive...weldone
How does the torque feels in comparisson to JBX on the low-band of revs? JB is really strong there.

Nice numbers. I forget, which v3 map? I see the cones, so atleast a stage 1 map right? If I remember you are fully catless, so were you running the stage 2 map?
Thanks. |

Great job man!
IMO, it's all about the start. If you get your 60 foots down to 1.7-1.8s then your in the low 12s.

I would love to get it down to 1.7, but every time I try to launch I see my $$$$$ PS2s go up in smoke! |

Honestly though, unless your running soft compound tires like drag radials, a full burnout is not necessary. You should just drive around the water box, then spin your tires for 10-15 feet not using the brake and line up. Just spin them to clean them off and pick up some track compound. Running the generals at the track a few weeks ago I was able to pull off 3 consecutive 1.9x 60 foot times, i'm also a manual. I think the track had more in it too, I wasnt launching as hard as I could have, great track prep. Clem on here was also running Generals and pulled a 1.8x 60 ft which would have been a great run, but he missed 2nd!!!! practice practice practice, or in your case, get some cheaper tires for the strip

This was on the sedan. With the R switch on, and higher octane and DRs I ran the 12.13. Stock intake/exhaust. The one run I aborted I believe would have been in the 11's, well over 91mph in the 1/8. My 08 coupe runs 12.8's on 91 octane right now. And thats with RFTs. By the way DJ, is your coupe Monaco also, or black? Do you have any idea if the cone filters helped you at all? Would have been cool to see what it would do on the stock airbox.
