Rear CCB Calipers
Has anyone here tried to "upgrade" the crappy rear calipers on the CCB equipped cars to the nice ones used in the M3/M4? I currently drive an M4 with CCB and can't understand why BMW would use such cheap looking calipers in the rear of the M5 equipped with CCBs.
I'm pretty sure that the actual rotors are the exact same size as the ones used in the M3/M4 applications. |

The two are incompatible.
The F3x and F8x have drum brakes for the manual handbrake which push against the inside of the bells on the discs. https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/search...M3/ECE/34_2208 The G3x and F90 have an electronic handbrake which acts directly upon the caliper (the actuator is part 11) https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/search...M5/ECE/34_2549 |
