With all these dual cone filter kits out there, I was wondering?

If any of DIY guys used AEM filters? More specifically the Dryflow ones?

Opinions are welcome! Arguments also (be nice!). The obvious benefit would be not needing to oil the filter after the cleaning. Not sure about the quality of these filters though.

Just curious! Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. It's doable, they have the same size intake with the 3 in. inlet. You would get the advantage that your intakes do not need to be oiled. But dry-flows are not inverse cones, therefore less surface area .. wonder if the rubber ends of it would melt since these are designed for cold air system..

Why not just use S&B or K&N filters? Very high quality and reasonable prices considering what is at risk.

I think all you need to DIY is
two filters
and two couplers
which must have one end 2.25'' and the other side however big your filter is

I know the S&B are very good. From what I've been told the AEM filters are quite good. I was curious if anyone had done it. The sole advantge is not needing to oil them once cleaned (put too much oil or not enough). I used to take care of my K&N back then but if you could avoid it why not!

The DIY is quite simple and this is why I will do it on my own, just looking at what is out there as options.

I didn't know that they are not available in an inverse cone set-up, I haven't researched them more than that. Just asked my brother what they cary (works partime at a speedshop) so I could do this little project to see if I like it or not.

Thanks for the info!
