Will comfort rear seats be offered later on the G05?

My SA just sent a text saying his product trainer just picked up his X5 and said it doesn't have comfort rear seats. This is really gonna change things for us if they don't offer comfort rear seats. I'm 6'4" and my wife is 6'. Our 28 month old is already 3'1". Since the back of the child seat is angled, the comfort rear seats that decline back allow us to slide the baby seat farther back into the rear seat allowing us up from more leg room.

I don’t think anyone has confirmed that the standard seats DON’T recline. Perhaps they do in the G05? Hopefully will find out Oct 1st with all the reviews!

The middle row does recline and slide for sure with the 3rd row option coming in Dec. This was confirmed by the BMWBlog video posted a couple days ago.

If you look at this image from the press release, it looks to me like there is space between the seat back and the side of the cargo area. So I would imagine that the standard seats DO recline slightly.

I don't believe they will. While as you said nothing has been confirmed yet, if you look at this video review of a non-3rd row X5 at about 7:59, they start looking at the rear seats, and there doesn't appear to be any type of mechanism or switch to recline the seats.

Yeah, you might be right. Also in that video it doesn't look like there actually is much room between the sides of the cargo area and the rear seats.

In the X1 we had a few years ago the rear seats did recline a bit. To do so you used the same handle on the top of the seat backs that you would to fold the seats all the way down. It allowed for a few inches of adjustment. Perhaps that same handle on the X5 allows for a few inches of adjustment as well? Maybe only to make them even more upright though...

I don't see space between the seat back and the side of the cargo area. I think G05 didn't have comfort rear seats. You must go to the new GLE or Audi Q7, Q8, if you want rear comfort seats.
