Vishnu Intake Installed
Hey everyone. Just installed my Vishnu Dual Cone Intake. Other mods are v2 and a bastuck axle back.
The sound difference is not that noticable unless you go wide open. More so with the windows down. Doesn't make it sound ricey at all. As far as power goes, the butt dyno is telling me theres something there, especially on the highway top end. I'm installing V3 tomorrow and will get the car dyno'ed for the results. As far as the intakes not rubbing anything, that isn't really the case. The rear intake touches the intake manifold and wire looms that used to be attached to the airbox, and the front intake tubing rubs against the intake duct. I don't really see them rubbing through any time soon though, so I'll leave it alone. The only other downside is that the vacuum line going into the block is now floating in mid air. It certainly looks a lot cooler in there though |

i love my DCI also.. mine is BMS couplers with K&N filters. deff a huge throttle response difference. makes the 29.2 lag issue much much more bearable. great sub $100 investment for me.

Vishnu Dual Cones
I just installed mine today also. It wasn't too hard too remove the airbox once you know that the wire looms are attached to the airbio via rubber tabs. Once you disconnect the OEM intake (just gently pull it off by pulling back on the gusseted section, you can get to the rear and front turbo intakes. Be sure not to drop anything into the intakes - that will do nasty things to the turbos on start up!.
The air filters come with intake tibes - the one that is longer goes on the back filter, and the short one goes on the front. I had to test fit the pipes and filters afew times before I could get them in the best possible position. The rear one is tilted up slightly, and the front one does the same. I believe that the correct install is that the filters do not touch when they are in their final position. On acceleration, there is a slight whistle, and on deceleration there is a sound similar to a BOV. I thought that it might be a loose clamp -- I tightened everything and did another few runs - same noises - not all unpleasant - just different from OEM. I put my OEM airbox in a plastic bag with a tie - probably a good idea since you don;t want dust/debris to collect in the intakes. All in all - a great mod - ambient temp was 75 - so better power than this afternoon when it was 90! No codes, warning lights, etc!

I dont see how u can get them both in there without each one touching the other. I tried today for about 30 minutes but the end result was that they were both touching each other.

It takes a while to get the back one in as far as possible. Mine kept getting hung up. I had to rotate while pushing in to get it to go deep. |
