What are our non comp brakes? Just regular brakes painted blue?

The ''regular'' blue calipers share all the same pads, M235i, M240i, M2, M3/M4.
The ''new'' silver front calipers (found on the M2c) are shared with the F10 M5 (same pad) but the rear are unique. The disc size may differ between models
