any other former (full size) Range Rover owners here

My wife's last 4 cars on the trot have been full size Range Rovers, but I've been working on her for a while to switch to an X5 because they're much cheaper. We've driven the current X5 and watched online reviews of the 2019. My main concern is that it might feel smaller for passengers. We are used to plenty of personal space in the Range Rover. Any personal experience switching from a RR to an X5, thoughts on the size difference? The x5 seems to be about 10% smaller in all dimensions but hard to judge having not been in a new one yet.

Rr rear seats are much nicer than current f15 but I haven't really sat inside the g05 and that is supposed to be nicer than the f15.

What function does the 2nd row perform for your wife? Does she sit there or will she alway be up front? I feel the g05 front row with merino extended and dash leather and crystal is a nicer place to be than the rr even in auto biography trim however the rr 2nd row is a much nicer place than any x5.

My son rides back in the second row, he's autistic, over 6 feet tall, and doesn't fit all that well in the 2018 x5 rear seat. I'm hoping some of that extra 2 inches of length in the G05 was assigned to the 2nd row but my suspicion is much of it went to the formerly vestigal 3rd row, which we don't need. The full size Range Rover has worked very well for us for years but I'm tired of the 6 figure price tags.

Then u should get the x7 which has the 'captains throne' rear seats.

The G05 adds 0.8" of rear legroom. I was disappointed to hear this. Will still have to check it out in person, though, as to whether it "feels" more roomy in G05 second row.
