air suspension on m sport question

I have a 50i msport with dhp on order and have a question on the suspension. Are they using steel springs or air? My wife q7 has air and rides nice. The suspensions are not clear to me.
Thanks if anyone know the details.

Did you order with integral active steering? think the 50i m sport has m adaptive pro suspension with has all the bells and whistles and uses air plus edc plus active roll stabilization.

The Dynamic Handling package on the 50 includes integral active steering in the US. They do not distinctly mention the 2-axle air suspension, but given that air suspension is required to have the integral active steering, pretty sure that the 2-axle air suspension is part of the M Adaptive Professional Suspension

Sorry but you are talking nonsense.. M Adaptive Professional Suspension havn't air suspension. I know that BMW is ashamed of it, it hides it, but that's the truth. Merc and Audi are much better in air suspension technology.

I believe the DHP comes standard with Air Suspension on both axles as well as having Active Roll Stabilization.

I was not aware that DHP also gave you Active Steering, which I think is one of the best options (after DHP).

Nice car you have ordered. Good luck and please let us know how it is once you receive it.

According to the order sheet the US market M Sport suspension is not air although they don't make it easy to see. Some here have suggested that air suspension on m sport will be an option in a couple months. In other markets, it is already an option, such as Canada.

This is true for 40i m sport. The suspension on dhp 50i is m adaptive pro.

It seems that were about 50/50. Some of the problems with this new car is the lack of clarity. The dealership has no idea whats going on because the manufacture isn't telling them. I have a December build for the tech but like everyone else have not seen a car.

On the 50i, ZDH does not include or comes standard with 2VR 2-axle air suspension. ZX5 active roll stabilization employs electric swivel motors to enable compensation of body roll under dynamic cornering.

On the USA order guide notes, 2VR cannot be order with ZMP.

I understand 2 axle air is not included with dhp but where i am confused is having air suspension with a lot of stroke, that may do well in off road situations, used with the 2vr does not mean they are not utilizing some sort of air with dhp. i can see the zx5 swivel motors used to eliminate the torsion bar needs but swivel motors will not help the ride quality.

Per the US guide, one key exception to this is if one adds 4UB (3rd row seats). SOP for this is 12/18.

Adding 4UB will remove 2VF (adaptive M-suspension) and add 2Vr (air-suspension). Costs $1000 if ZMP is already added.

I hope this stays correct. This is my path to nirvana (CB M-sport + air-suspension on 21inch wheels ). I get true comfort and sport settings this way.

I have minimal use for the 3rd row seats, so it will be folded down most of the time, but it will bring the above benefits + allow the 2nd row to recline and slide as needed - which will be a plus.

Likewise, I have limited to no use for 3rd row but was looking forward to M sport with air.

Does anyone know if the two silver switches on the gear cluster in this picture for the air suspension? Or maybe the off-road package?

Yes. One is for the air-suspension ride height adjustment. The other is for changing the off-road settings.

I've seen a photo of the center console with only 1 of the switches. So you can have 1 without the other.

I did see the air suspension ride height change in action. It was a noticeable change.

Thanks. So those switches would not be included in the M Sport package then, correct?

Correct. No air-suspension, no off-road package...no switches.

What's weird is that the thread below shows an m sport with the 2 silver switches.

Different market, different package combination options for launch. Unfortunate for USA market. Perhaps they'll adjust the package restrictions based on USA sales orders over time.

Yeah, that's my post, showing Middle East models. The G05 I looked at did seems to have the M-Sport package, and it definitely did have the air suspension. I watched them actuate the suspension adjustment, and it looked great, with a noticeable height change. Whether other world regions are going to get the same options, I don't know.

Yes, the suspension options appear to be all a bit of a mess depending on where you are located in the world.

Take the UK for example. You order M sport on the 4.0 petrol or 3.0 diesel .. yet you can't have the adaptive M suspension at all. You can have air suspension though !!!
