Really looking forward to the US configurator so we can see what the packages and exact pricing are going to be here.

The colors they're showing are interesting too, no red for the 330i?

I really don't see the benefit of remote start. I mean, why would you want to start your car before even get in?! To warm it up in cold days? Or save few seconds to get out of parking spot? Even my damn smartphone often does "pocket dialing" to randomly calling out by itself...mostly to emergency 911...which drives me crazy. Now I have worry about "pocket" starting my car?!!! What if the engine is on accidentally all night long (even days if you're away on vacation) inside of closed garage? It can potentially fill your entire house with CO2 or even burn it down! As an engineer, I know that no technology is perfect and it can malfunction, and this remote start thing can kill someone. Is the benefit surpasses the risk? I don't think so. This is a perfect example of Why-Tech instead of being a really useful Hi-Tech.

It's extremely useful to COOL your car when it's hot outside and the interior can get as hot as 150 degrees.

Spoken like a true moderate climate resident! When the windchill is -20 (as in the upper midwest) or the summer ambient is 115 (as in the southwest), getting a head start on climate control or melting an inch of ice off the windshield is a major benefit. Yes, it surpasses the risk, as I've found on several vehicles in our household, with zero failures over ~ a decade. They do time out if no one opens the door and engages the vehicle and activation usually entails a double-press of the fob in a brief moment.

Yeah, my house has burned down twice thanks to my Grand Cherokee and Silverado. Friggin sucks when that happens.

Move to somewhere that's below freezing in the winter with multiple inches of ice and/or snow on your car and then tell me remote start isn't useful.

If no technology is perfect and everything can malfunction, why do people fly in planes everyday? We should just go back to the stone age and use wood to start fire.

Very excited about this. Remote start and ventilated seats (to be confirmed? the X3 has them) are the only things I felt that my F30 was really missing.

Plus it's fun to hear your exhaust fire up from behind the car instead of inside it

Weirdly haven't seen a single thing about ventilated seats which is strange since they look like the exact same seat from the X3 which does offer it (although makes the seats harder and less adjustable)

The remote start will be hella handy now that I have a baby and live in the northeast
Poor girl won't have to turn blue while waiting for the heat or get heat exhaustion waiting for A/C lol
