procede v3 install went a little sour
I need some tech support. Vishnu is closed. If some sees this from vishnu, I really need some help. The slider for the large black sub connector broke and I can't get the connector on. Does anyone have the part # for the slider and the housing?

Shit sorry to hear about that, but if it was the small ecu connector, I have a spare one!!! The part number on the small ecu connector is 7521522....i hope that helps because maybe the large connector is only a couple of numbers away from that....I was wondering how that happened because I am going to do the install wednesday...I just finished reverting everything back to stock and started the engine without a hitch...

It actually wasn't the slider. It's the housing that the slider goes in to. I tried just sticking it on there and now the whole thing is stuck. For the record, this was my own fault, not anything having to do with Vishnu. Does anyone know how i can get the large connector off without breaking anything? Can I pry it out?

to get the sub connector out, try using some thin needle nose pliers and a small flat head screwdriver to wiggle it out. I mean if it's already broken, just break it into pieces and get it out that way. How did u end up getting it stuck/broken anyway?? |

Update: I was able to get the connectors out of the socket. Now my question is, Is it possible to re install this without using the slider? Can it just be pressed down in to place?

Take some pics so we can see exactly what broke.
I think I have a solution for you temporarily

So if i am not mistaken, after plugging the subconnector to the PnP harnass, the connector from the PnP has to go back into the ecu connector...IF there is any resistance whatsover, its means that its the wrong side in?? Am i right on this?

If I'm not mistaken, the last 1/4 inch of pushing in the connector is done in concert with pushing in the slider. No slider=It won't go in all the way. Not sure what you can do....glueing the slider back together is a no go I take it?

Damn it, that is not what I was hoping to see. It looks like you need to replace the entire connector.
Is this your daily driver or do you have another car you could use? |

Finding one will be the first challenge. Re-pinning it will be your next. Good luck. I used to re-pin connectors this size when I worked on planes. Trick is to swap one pin at a time.
Also, I bet the resistance you felt was at least one of the pins/contacts not being aligned. I'll bet you either pushed a pin out, or bent one of the pins - Hence car wont start. |
