Odd power loss after dynamic error display
Hello, I just installed some dual cones yesterday. I was driving on the way to dallas and some older beamer was trying to toy with me .. I finally got tired of weaving and gunned it up to like 135mph. Shortly after I slowed down going at around 70. The car then showed dynamic drive error. I started loosing all power right after the error display and then slowly untilll i finally got to the side of the road. puttering to a stop! This has never happened to me before.
Then popped the hood to see all the piping under the engine on the right side bright red hot!! Has this ever happened to anyone? I let it sit for 15 mins and then turned car on. everything was fine after that.. Overheat? Its never ever happened before. I think its the dual cones sucking in so much air that the dme got confused? Do you think its the clamps not tight enough maybe? It got boost and everything like nothing ever happened... I didnt drive hard after, but it still felt strong and I could hear the turbos spooling

When you say "right side" you mean the passenger's side?
The turbos used to get hot and red after long and intense runs. This is happening EVERY time you run your car hard. I believe that this has nothing to do with the 'limp mode.

I ran it hard for about 15 mins. Ive ran it harder before and nothing like this occured. Yea on the passenger side close to the bottom.. It was super red. I never seen that under a hood.. Hum.. No it was more like dynamic drive error display.. shows the car tilted).. then check engine and limp during the slowing andputtering part..

what U saw were your exhaust manifolds and/or turbos and/or downpipes. It's perfectly normal to have them red after gunning it for a while. Check this out:
yepp, it's an N54 I am used to see my exhaust section bright yellow, almost white, shining like a reflector. It is no problemo as far as U let it cool down properly, it may be surprising but it is still within turbo operating temp range. So I dont think your limp mode was induced by red turbos, even if I can be wrong.

which is why you drive normal few several minutes afterwards to let them cool down (normal being no boost). unless you lease it then put it away wet and listen to the exhaust expand/contract
