Car Just Sits There???
WTF, FBO, yada, PS2, yada, Wedge, yada, etc.
my car didn't move a foot at WOT! The DynoJet technician refused to let me behind the wheel. Put your headphones on... The last 29 seconds more than make up for the initial 40 second dramatic build up for artistic/technical reasons. Last edited by cranelec; 10-19-2018 at 11:21 PM.. |

DynoJet for now okay?🤞
I did log two of the three pulls. Working on trying to remember my datazap me password😳 Truly bummed about the video's user unfriendly format! I'm pretty sure I need to convert the .mov format to something Android users can view. More Seriously, to think my "Nightmare on Jack Stands" finally sent chills up my spine. I wish you were able to listen to the 2-5 gear pull with stereophonic headphones. |

Sounds great! PS2, right? Shouldn't it be making over 400 whp, even on straight 93?

At best, I'm a fairly competent "shade-tree" mechanic. Honestly, my "Nightmare On Jack Stands" or taking a completely stock 335ixDrive to FBO all in one-shot including: "a self-modified tune based off the BMS backend flash, suspension, doing my own walnut blasting in my driveway on jack stands made me realize that I was NOT a fairly competent "shade-tree" mechanic. In fact, except for the suspension, all other tasks required to take a completely stock 335ixDrive to FBO were mechanical "firsts" for me. Murphey's Law ruled everything I touched (e.g. I had to extract several manifold studs that snapped flush to the block., JB4 issues, etc). The tree part of "shade-tree" became a mighty oak that fell on top of me. This driveway performance upgrade I attempted was breaking me physically, financially, and emotionally. The final straw was when the V-band between the PS2 and VRSF down pipe flew off during my first pull. With several hundred dollars left, I took my car to an Indy shop to install a new V-band. and flashed/tried the most expensive MHD OTS tunes with less than desirable results. Using Houtan's advice, I asked Wedge Performance for the most conservative/safe 93 pump gas custom tune (16 psi boost target). Wedge turned my "Nightmare On Jack Stands" into the car I Dreamed of. Continuing, I nearly shit my pants when I started a 3rd gear pull at 2800 rpm and stayed WOT until fifth gear and realized I was pushing 147 mph. FYI: Hours after the DynoJet experience, I had WedgePerformance tweak the tune adding approximately 25 more wHp💪. 🤪 Baby steps... |

^^ I can relate to that in so many ways...shade tree mechanic, mid-life crisis, breaking stuff that shouldn't break 😂
I stepped into FBO kinda slowly, but still doing all myself. Just flashed the E30 tune tonight for the first time, but I'll eventually go PS2 and will start out conservatively as well. That's just smart, and allows you to enjoy the journey more IMO. Glad everything's working for you now and making you smile!
