How long do we need to wait for stop sales

I really need my car before thanksgiving. Today I went to the dealership and signed the paperwork. However, the underbody baffles and cable issues are preventing me from taking my car back home. Im worrying about not being able to get it for months, and that will be a big problem for not only me but also every BMW owner who preordered their X5. I would like to hear from you guys, especially those who experienced similar stop sale problems before. Thanks!

My 2019 X5 xDrive40i is sitting at my dealer with a Stop Sale for the
underbody baffles and negative battery cable .

I just hope both items are corrected by Nov. 2nd which I understand is when deliveries can begin.

I could have got my car if there were no stop sales. They just won't report sales to BMW till Nov 15. I have my assigned plate already

You say you need the car for thanksgiving. I'm assuming to drive home for the holiday but the return to the same area.

Is the dealer going to lend you a loaner or something from their inventory until they are able to release the car to you ?

I only Bring this up because you now own the car. You signed . I'm excited for you. It looks beautiful. Do you have any leverage with the dealer ? Their line is going to be "there is a stop sale nothing we can do because it is out of our control. "

Atleast without signing and just leaving the deposit you had originally, they are forced to Atleast update you.

What Happens if this stop sale leads into January 2019 and you don't want to wait longer . Will they asked you to "trade in" your g05 that you never drove but is now registered . It is now a used car.

For the record I don't know the type of relationship you have with the dealer. I just had to make general assumptions

I paid full money when I ordered my car. I didn't just pay the deposit, so I know I'm getting this car anyway, and I'm not waiting for another car's arrival if this car's not gonna work.

And since they are not allowed to officially sell this car until the launch date, I believe they will fix the issue, otherwise it's against BMW North America

Well, this looks promising, out of my 63 units only 3 remain in stop sale.

Did they fix the stop sales issues or only a few came with stop sales?

The stop sales mentioned in this and another thread are disturbing. The details get revealed in bits and pieces on Bimmerpost. I had a 38 week build, and my X5 has been stuck at the Oxnard VPC for more than a month. I've asked for details all over the BMW world, but no answer as to why the delay and when I can expect delivery in the southwest U.S. I should not be the one seeking answers. BMW should be contacting me. This is abysmal customer relations. For those whose X5s are at their dealers awaiting fixes with no firm delivery date, they are even in more distress than I am. I keep checking in at the MyGarage website since mid-September and see the same words again and again: "Your BMW is at the port. Bon voyage!" What a joke for a luxury car manufacturer.

I agree, BMW should be providing you with more info!

But at least take some comfort in the fact that even if there was no stop sale, you couldn’t take possession until 11/1 anyway. Maybe it will be ready for you then? But it would be nice if BMW told you that!!!

Interesting, Jay, that all 3 are 40i, not the V8.

Jay- Is there an actual fix being implemented to fix the underbody baffles and negative battery cable ?

Your posts have been very helpful - thank you

I am sure there is a fix in place, not sure how long those cars will take to fix. These are just the very early examples, I have other cars that have zero issues.

This problem concerns only X5's already manufactured, or also ones to be built?
