440i GC on it's way!

Just had an email to say my 440i is fully assembled! Compared to my last new BMW the comms have been so much better. Last time I placed an order and the next time I heard anything was the dealer saying can you come and pick it up!

From this point how long is peoples experience with the time to collection?

For those interested this is the spec:

Snapper Rocks Blue
Ivory White Dakota Leather
Brushed Alu trim with black high gloss
M Sports Plus (with bicolour orbit grey wheels)
Adaptive M Sport suspension
Reversing camera
HUD
Digital cockpit
Speed limit display
Folding mirrors
Model/trim deletion
Plus all the usual 440 GC bits

Congrats, fantastic car incoming!

Mine was around 14 days from build complete to me picking her up - think that was very fast though.

If everything lines up then it can be as little as 4 days (as I experienced when I ordered my 335d back in 2013, in fact from initial order to delivery was only 18 days!). However my 440i last year took about 2 weeks.

Great car. Adding M Adaptive was also a great decision. Congrats!

Great spec., especially the adaptive M Sport suspension. I was confused for a while about adaptive susp. My brother swears by it, yet many reports say comfort is too soft and sport too firm. I've had BMW salesfolk say the same and dissuade me from speccing it but when I finally managed to try it out I found it is fantastic for the poor A & B roads around the Lakes. Tremendous improvement over my pre-LCI 330dX, even with its ACS springs.

You'll be like a dog with two dicks when you get it!

Cheers

I've got adaptive on my 440i GC and love it.

Half my driving is on B roads and I stick into sport for the extra body control.

Get onto a dual carriageway and back to comfort.

Perfect!

Nearly chose grey but the wifes VW is a similar grey to MG so I decided it wouldn't like right on the drive!

I've got adaptive on my current 330d. I think it's fantastic too. Some roads may feel a bit rough in sport (esp. in the UK) but it's no big issue. As for comfort being soft that's kinda the point

It's the other way round up here, you need to use comfort on the poorly surfaced B roads and sport on the A's.

Cheers

How often did you get updates? My dealer is generally very helpful but once the order is in he tends to go quiet. This time I got a nice email from BMW that the order was in (bit like tracking a dominos pizza order!). Will they send those out regularly at each step of the process?

I have a tentative delivery date around the first week of December but I'm an impatient bugger so having regular updates helps
