Well, I messed up with my wheel purchase
A member from the M3, M4 forum reached out to me since I had shown interest in some HRE wheels. I was initially very uneducated when it came to understanding wheel sizes last week and I trusted the member when he said they would fit the M2 as it was in his title. I didn't get the specs from him as I trusted they were acceptable for the M2.
I sent the money to the seller as I reached out to HRE to ensure the serial number indicated an original wheel and not a fake. Not only did they say it was genuine, they even checked the specs for me and are below. HRE S107 19x9.5et20 HRE S107 19x11et37 They told me the wheel is overly aggressive and that I assume the risk of putting the wheel on. After reading more on this forum and educating myself properly I found the rear outer rim would stick out 15.7mm further than the stock 437's and greatly increase my risk to damaging my arches. I could stretch the tire but I absolutely do not like that look. I reached out to the seller and told him what HRE told me and although he stated they have been on an M2 before, his pictures showed them on his Porsche's. I asked him if I could send them back to him for a refund and for me to assume the shipping cost (shipping to and from Italy is not cheap) and he said no returns which is an educational lesson on my part and a lack of integrity on his. I asked him why he stated they would fit on an M2 with those offsets. I guess I am forced to try to sell them on my own when they arrive. So if you are interested in some Matte Bronze HRE S107's let me know.

The simple solution would be to get a Porsche!
Jokes aside, it always sucks to get burned. Silver lining is you learned an inexpensive lesson as you can always sell them. |

How did you pay for the wheels? There may still me some recourse there depending if your answer is PayPal goods and services or credit card even.
Worst case, you can resell the wheels (hopefully locally) as they are usually sought after - find out what car they will fit best and go on those forums |

I think you should try to fit them. The stock 437s can take 10mm spacer without poking so you only got 5-6mm to deal with. The fronts could use some extra camber anyway as they wear on the outside with stock alignment.
It's an aggressive fit but it's been done. What size tires were you thinking about 255/35 and 285/30? |

That should be fine too. Just search this forum for aggressive wheel fitment to see what these offsets would look like.
The rear is equivalent to 10 inch ET24 or 10.5 inch ET 30. It's been done on M2 with pretty wide tires so you can get an idea of what it would look like. Here is one of the aggressive setups - https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=308 Last edited by mr_lab_rat; 10-28-2018 at 05:02 PM.. |

It also depends on the ride height. I believe the lower you go the more the wheel tucks in (the track narrows). Not by much but we are fighting for millimeters.
The factory alignment doesn't have much camber so you could gain a bit there too. Some other, more extreme measures I have seen was shaving the wheels and/or hubs. All this is not unique to BMW, any active car modifying forum should be a good source of information. |
