I've used Plycar. No issues. Prices vary greatly depending on what time of year and destination. Big difference in price between enclosed and open transport.

I used Reliable (the orange trucks) to go from Virginia to Chicago, they shipped 2 cars for me, very happy with the service and communication.

Intercity seconded. Excellent and reasonably priced - fun fact there is some wiggle room to haggle in their price.

Stick with a company that has their own trucks (carrier), versus one contracting others (broker).

Thanks everyone

Maybe we should sticky this as a reference to those that are selling or buying a 1M

Nice to have some references with this type of stuff because there are hundreds of car shippers and I was going nuts trying to figure out who the reputable ones are!

Looks like Intercity has a strong reputation. I'm looking from Connecticut to California and I got a quote for $2500+ by them . That's kind of double what I have been told my friends and other people who have shipped across the country before.

Any other companies someone can chime in on?

Thank you guys

Almost all of these companies are just brokers for the same truck drivers. Call around and get some more quotes. 2500 sounds pretty high even for enclosed trailer. I was pretty happy with the experience with Montway, maybe give them a call for a competitive bid.

What 86Zed is true!

Go with companies that own their own trucks!

I definitely would like to go that route. Any other companies besides Intercity that own their own trucks? So many vague descriptions by these other companies.

I think I paid $1,200 or so Philly to Chicago. So Connecticut to Calif at $2,500 sounds about right.

I've heard positive comments from this car transport company as well:

Intercity Lines third(ed). They have their own trucks - the drivers were super friendly and professional.
Cost $2100 from VA Beach to San Diego. Was expensive compared to brokers but I had complete peace of mind. Definitely worth it.
They're the only transport company I'd use again.

So, I ended up using Plycar and they were great as well. They also own their Trucks and the drivers work directly for them. They also have a pretty nifty gps tracker so you can keep track.

I went from Phoenix, Az to Gainesville, Va for $1800 enclosed 😃

Thanks DKAT for the referral!

The car you have is very similar to the one I own, the only difference is the color. It looks awesome, and I know it rides well too. The only thing that is different is that you were smart about the car transport service, and you have chosen the closed carrier to ship your car. I wanted to save some money, and I've chosen an open carrier. When my car got to the destination one window was smashed, and it's not the fault of the shipping company, it's my fault. It would never happen in a closed carrier. A random drunk dude saw a nice car on the trailer when the driver was making a stop, and he decided to smash a window, that shows my luck...
