Sometimes too harsh a ride
Im enjoying my M2C. Often using it as my daily driver. I enjoy the tight handling and cornering. However, sometimes I'm feeling the ride is too harsh. Usually on crappy city roads. I'm wondering if there are suspensions changes that anyone can recommend that will improve the ride.
Maybe I'm just getting old... Thanks |

This KW adaptive setup and some lighter wheels (763M) might help..
Beware, currently this adaptive dampers cost upwards of $4,000 and has to be imported from Germany.. Also, try slightly taking down your tire PSI a few pounds; you'll be surprise the difference something as simple as air pressure does for the overall comfort. |

Funny enough, C&D said the exact same thing about the OG M2 in their long-term wrap up.

I've heard the Dinan springs soften things up a bit

The easiest thing you can do without altering suspension is to go down to say the 640M 18" wheels to get extra sidewall. Of course depending on your tastes you are downgrading in looks. I am actually running the 640M wheels with Michelin PA4 winter tires and the ride is better and personally I don't think the wheels look that bad as they have the concave look of the 19" stock wheels.

On my previous E82 1M I had JRZ-RS1 coil overs, very good compliant ride, no roll or diving while braking hard.
But I had them serviced 5 times in a row, under warranty solved by JRZ, so no complaint on their outstanding customer service. But I do not have confidence anymore to try this again. |

Can't disagree it'd be nice to have, but the M2 was originally built to a price point - started at $51,700! - hence the regular seats, side mirrors, N55, and non-adaptive suspension.

We have really bad roads around here but the M2 is just my weekend car and even still I'm going with Dinan HAS next spring. From all reviews I've read it makes the ride smoother while also improving handling.
I'll probably install Camber plates at the same time and replace the PSS with grippier tires but I plan to track at least 2x per month for the summer.

Funny, I have speculated that the Dinan suspension made the OG car more "comfortable" because the springs are stiffer. I also speculate that the m2c springs are stiffer, that's why I find the competition to be MORE comfortable than the OG car. While this may seem odd to some, i believe it is due to a better balance with very stiff dampers. The new stiffer springs are just a better combination, resulting in a better ride. |

I hadn't driven my GT4 for awhile so went for a ride through some canyons
https://jalopnik.com/americas-greate...ret-1736302708 I was surprised that even though it was firmer it was a lot less bouncy than my M2C. I think the problem with the M2C suspension is the shocks are under dampened on rebound. It always seems to have an extra up and down on transitions . it could be a lot better on body control? carl |

It's my second one and my personal opinion is the shock tuning is off . I'm not saying I'm an expert but I have a lot of experience and all of the equipment including slip plates, scales, camber and toe gauges . For setting up suspensions including corner balancing and track alignments.on Lotus's and porsche's that I've tracked and owned . Get the car on the track with switchbacks and off camber corners with a dip and you'll see the lack of body control. Just my opinion .carl
