Mirror Colour.....

Hopefully a certain retrofitter will be able to fit my folding mirrors. I sourced a set with Black Sapphire covers and can't decide if I should just fit them as is keeping the mirrors black or swap the MG covers from my car over.

Help me out!

We have exactly the same car and considered having my caps painted black like the shadow editions but I decided against it as I didn’t was it to look like the car was trying to be something it isn’t. Plus shadow editions now are really common

I say do it. I have BSM ones on MG F30 instead of black gloss. Can't really tell the difference. They look so much better in my opinion.

few pics...

Thanks mate, I’ve been trying to find pics without success

That’s made my mind up, BSM covers will stay on

You're welcome

I think the contrast with the grey works well.

Simon kindly came and fitted today - drivers side fold not working but looks smart with the black. Adjustment and electrochrome all worked just not the fold even though power was getting to the motor. Will sort out at some point but main reason for fitting was the dipping passenger mirror which works perfectly!

He also flashed the Alpina Gearbox software and although I've only been for a 5 min test drive, it is loads better.

Interestingly the latest istep will not allow you to code Angel Eye brightness while the lights are on, or change the comfort indicator for anything other than 3 flashes!

Oh fantastic, absolutely loved my 1.9, had two of them in fact, still have very fond memories, and bring a huge smile to my face everytime i see one, which isn't very often these days, a rare beast. Hindsight tells me i should have kept my first one, but a company car mean't i hardly used it, and i wasn't lucky enough to have had a garage then. Enjoy

Looking good mate

Hope you get the mirror issue sorted at not much cost!

The Alpina Gearbox flash... what does it do? I have a 335d, is this worth doing and what benefits/gains will I get? I've heard and seen a few people have done this on here.

Cheers

Should do, keeping my eye out for a replacement and waiting for a reply from seller, it’s got the photochromic glass which is worth a bit anyway even if I have to sell it.

Re the Alpina map. Slightly amended shift points, smoother shifts especially in sport gearbox, and faster shifts I believe. You also get the current gear indicated in normal drive mode next to the D on the dash.

Some have said it goes even better with a remap too.

So far I like it a lot!
