Thumbs down my car keeps screwing me!!!!

so I just dropped off my 2008 335 at the dealer, I was getting the long cranks again and I had a rattle from under the hood,

Well to make a long story short I have now had my 4th HPFP replaced and now there telling me the rattling is the wastegate,

I have had the car for about 7 months (mid december delivery) and my SA told me that my car has been in for service 11 times adding to a total of 30 days, (not consecutive)

( I have also had alot of other problems just to lazy to type them all)

I am not happy with my car and I wont ever be buying another BMW

I have called BMW canada and they are looking in to it but I'm very skeptical they are going to do anything about it,

sorry for the long post, just needed to vent.

don't let one car sour your perception of bmw. there are some manufacturers that have high potential for problems as well. you were just unlucky in the fact that you got one with lots of problems....however if you look around this board 95% have cars with no problems, or only minor problems.

sometimes car manufacturers that push the limit in r&d has a by product for higher than usual rates for defects. it really goes hand in hand.

best of luck

hpfp and wastegate rattle are common problems... they will be able to fix both as long as they do things right... which they don't always do the first time.

Ouch. And I was whining about my shifter knob popping off when I was throwing 2nd gear moderately hard.

In the US we have lemon laws that vary from state to state but the jist of it is that if an OEM can't fix a persistant problem within a reasonable number of attempts in a given time period, they have to take the car back.

Either that or at least try another dealer for the repairs. Also if you don't go nuclear I would at least contact BMW and tell them you want a free payment for the month you've been out of your car. They at least owe you that.

Best of luck to you in your quest for resolution!

You should see if BMW will buy the car back from you. Just complain. We don't have lemon laws in Canada.
