F30 320 efficient dynamic 2012
Hi
An anyone help , My f30 has no optional extras no light pack ...etc so I was checking to see where I can draw power for new footwell lights , thought I can take power from internal roof lights - us hooked and was checking and unfortunately my volt meter pin slipped it touched two of the contacts and it sparked and burning smell. Everything still looked ok - lights were still working noticed a problem When I turned car on - came up with passenger restraint system fault - think I shorted something out - does anyone have any clue as to what I’ve blown on car and what needs replacing? Tried unhooking battery and reconnecting - this has no effect - and now car is showing up message “ battery - increase battery discharge when stationary - electrical consumer were temporarily switched off” |

So the latter is due to you disconnecting the battery and should sort itself out (I.e. the car thinks the battery is flat as it lost power when you disconnected it).
Passenger airbag fault probably just needs a clear of the error (search tool32). That's where I would start. If it was a genuine error then it would re-appear |

Thanks for the advice - battery fault disappeared after a short drive
Airbag fault still comes up So I took it to local specialist - they reset all codes and fault cleared. Credit to AMG Cheshire - best in northwest |
