M sports suspension (HAS)

Anyone had this installed? See below...

https://www.parts.bmwgroup.com/infod..._014_02_18.pdf

If so, how is the ride quality in comfort mode, still ok?

I've been curious as well. The drop is right around 0.5" which is what I'd like to see.

Awesome, glad these are available now. After I get my M5C it will be these or the KW HAS.

Bump

So what is the story with this part?

A drop that won't void warranty sounds appealing.

Mine has been ordered... should arrive in early January.

Aside from that, haven't found a review from an owner anywhere.

Do you have the standard or competition?

15mm drop on this, which is conservative, but a nice compromise. Competition is set up -7mm F/-10mm R compared to stock, so I guess would go -12/-15 on this one.

Base model.

Decided against the competition when I realized I would be swapping out the suspension, exhaust, wheels, and black trim.

If I was gonna leave the car stock I would've gone competition.

It's for std F90 (Comp due later).

On the std car, the spring rates are a little different, and ride height adjustable from -0mm to -25mm.

Comp already has different kinematics, shortened springs (-7mm) with +10% stiffness, shorter aux dampeners (bump stops) and requires different spring rates than what's offered with this specific kit.

Although one could technically install this as is on a comp, it's not a good solution. During severe load reversal situations, the spring rates are inappropriate and it bottoms out on the bump stops.

Good to know

Was interested in a BMW solution. I've installed springs on previous cars and a mismatched spring and damper is not fun.

Wondering how this BMW adjustable suspension changes the ride from the stock non-comp version of the F90 M5?

I think it will depend on where you set the suspension ... the more aggressive the setup the more stiff and bouncy it will feel.

This is based on my experience with KW HAS so take it for what it's worth.

On the flip side, you can adjust endlessly until you find the setup that works best for you.

I'm just concerned with the spring rate of BMW's HAS. That will be the only difference regardless of where you set the height. I keep it up to retain as much shock travel as I can, but hope the spring rate will be more stiff than the non-comp spring rate. I'm sure BMW won't go too stiff and overpower the damping of the non-comp shocks. I was very impressed with the KW v3 on the F10, the shock was much better than the non-comp F10, but think maybe I'll try a HAS system this time around.

My dealer checked today, one available in the US. Retails at $1,860, plus BMW itemizes about $300 in extra mounting hardware. My guess is that BMW wants to replace every nut and bolt that has a wrench put on it! I doubt it would be that bad, but still pricey compared to KW HAS. I wish someone would be the first to take the jump, KW is a known quantity and usually good.
