What could trigger V3 to switch map from 2 to 1
I did a couple of WOT this evening and the car felt fine...I have Stage 1 maps loaded (without the remote map switcher so its always starts at map 2)...During a sprited drive after a couple of WOT, I see my boost only going as high as 10 psi and I am like WTF, so i go home and hook the computer up while car is running and sure enough it stated map1 which is the low boost map.....My question is why did the Procede automatically switch to map 1....is this possible, if so what are some of the reasons why it did this failsafe mod....Please make me understand..

I think Shiv stated somewhere that it may be possible for the map switcher to float between the two voltages (probably 0V and 5V) that correspond to the two maps if you don't connect it to the switching receiver. I could be wrong but I seem to remember him mentioning this in another thread. Try a search.

Well I guess i am the second one to encounter this automatic map switch via the voltage and not connecting the switcher( which i didn't do on purpose because I am one of those who received the kit with the remote switch backorder!!)...I was just worried that the car switched maps because of some failsafe feature of the V3!!! I hope Shiv can chime in on this....I wanted to know if Stage 1 with map 1 has boost at 9-11 psi???

Again.... no remote map switcher hooked up, the Procede should automatically default to map2 upon startup of the car as stated by Shiv!! |

When I run map 1 on stage 1 I get 14 psi around 5500 rpms like it says on the remote map switcher thread. Now I am worried about map 2 cause I am hitting up to 16/16.5

What is your boost at around 1500-3500 rpm before it reaches 14 psi at 5500 rpms....I am asking this because I see no more than 11 psi at those rpms during WOT...I thought if i floored the pedal its suppose to be throttle related to boost...so shouldn't i see close to 14psi during those rpm especially when the throttle is 100%?

And the paranoia starts....
lol... as mentioned before, there is a chance that, without the mapswitch connected, the PROcede can switch back to the low boost mode. In the low boost mode, the car will make between 10-12psi depending on temp, rpm, gear, etc,. The good news is that 100 map switchers came in today so those handful of people of people that are missing them will get theirs ship out tomorrow. Just plug it in and you'll be good to go. On map 2, if you are getting over 15psi, just lower it through User Torque setting. But before you do, confirm that you are indeed seeing over 15psi on your datalogs. While I'm sure there are some conditions that can bump boost higher than desired, I personally have not witnessed them. Also, sometimes boost gauges will read incorrectly. Especially at altitude. And what you want to monitor isn't boost anyway... it's absolute manifold pressure. This means that you will run more boost at high altitude than you will at low altitude. This is why you will see a stock car run anywhere between 5 and 9psi depending on conditions. Shiv |
