I just made a trip from SC to MA and back (950 miles each way). I've taken to giving my front spoiler, wheels, and side mirror plastic housings a good coat of Rejex (easier to clean off the bug splatter), and that was good enough to get me there with no problems.
Gave the car a good wash when I arrived, good to go until the return trip. Safe travels. |

Give it a good coat of wax and bring a bucket, sponge, and car wash. Give it a wash every now and then. No biggie. If you want to give it a coating of something, try PAM cooking spray. Loads of Floridians do this for the bugs. Believe me, we have bugs. They wash right off and it won't damage anything. Its just oil.

Bug and tar remover. Let it soak for 30 mins before a wash. With a high pressure wash, it'll take the bugs right off without any problems at all. I drive Edmonton to Calgary and back about twice a month.

Just watch for moose, deers and bears. They said because of the persisting rains in the past months, mosquito population is now 5 times the normal, and animals are trying to stay away from the woods and hang around highways to seek relief from the bugs. Collision with animals is at an all time high. This is not a joke!!

Bring an extra high pressure fuel pump...oh wait, you don't have a 335. Sorry. Then you've got nothing to worry about. Have fun on your trip.

u should get a the cover, and then add those guard rails on the front of your car like the ones they have on trucks, a mosquito candle, a floodlight, and packets of ramen you can eat.

I just came back from Tulsa Oklahoma to NJ and I think for the most make sure you're fully awake and grab a red bull. Make sure you're car has good oil level and yeah you should get a bra cause my car had a lot of bugs...and the guts were hard to remove..may also damage the paint

I take a lot of road trips and always make sure to have:
- Some kind of snacks/drinks (longer the drive, maybe an energy drink... fruit punch Rockstar helped me drive 12.5 hours a few months back.) - Music, and maybe a comedy CD or something else to listen to, just to break things up (especially with a bunch of people in the car.) - Check your tire pressure, and for a long trip, I'd throw a can of "fix-a-flat" in, just in case you blow 2 tires. - Canada is awesome... used to drive up to Montreal every summer to party. Enjoy! (Never exchange money at your hotel!) -About the cover... I've never bothered, since bugs come off after a good wash. But my last road trip kinda makes me want to try something on the front bumper next time... PIX: ED Munich to Paris BUGS!!! I felt this one... Quote:
I like your style.

On my trip from MD to FL, I applied a fresh coat of wax. I brought along a bucket with glass cleaner and some QD for some touch up along the way. I washed immediately when arrived to get all the guts off my bumper. If you have a bra then use it, but I wouldn't buy one for the trip. I have made many trips to FL and back and you don't really get any stone chips along the way.

1.) Radar detectors and laser jammers are illegal in the eastern Canadian provinces. They will confiscate, even if it's hard-wired! Check first!
2.) If you don't mind looking like a dork (I don't mind!), consider the blue 3M painter's tape on the leading edge of the hood and mirrors for rock chips. 3.) Download the last 20 weeks of Car Talk if you haven't had the chance to listen.
