2015 335i here

I see two diff kinds of ER charge pipe for the F30 N55:

This (no meth bungs) for $336.46:
https://x-ph.com/evolution-racewerks...rge-pipes-n55/

And this (option for 1 or 2 meth bungs) for $274.95
http://evolutionracewerks.com/node/190

A few questions:

- What does the 'T' in N55(3.0T) stand for?

- I don't currently run meth but may consider it the future. Why wouldn't I just buy the cheaper one w/ meth bungs? Why is it cheaper - is this just an outdated listing?

- 1 vs 2 meth bungs - I don't know anything about running methanol - I guess there are different injector setups. Any harm in just going ahead with 2 bungs just so I have the option of a dual injector?

- any performance difference in having meth bungs? Such as, even though they'll be sealed for the near future, can a little bit of air escape these sealed bungs thus losing some pressure? As opposed to a solid pipe w no holes drilled in it.

So the XPH link does have a meth bung, which it talks about at the end of the page.

I don't think the first link is the right CP. Here's what you want. It aligns with the XPH price more. There is no option for a second bung, it comes with one.

Thanks.

Why is the price so much lower on the ER site? I'm guessing that's just an old listing but unsure. The pipe on the ER link looks different too - it has a weld or some unioning of two diff pipes near the bungs, whereas the x-ph link has one continuous piece of metal for the pipe.

Also, perhaps the x-ph link comes w two pipes? The listing says 'pipes' and shows a pic of two charge pipes..

I edited my original post after I figured it out. Reread it! The picture that XPH has in your first link is what it should look like.

The cheap link is for the E Series N55. The more expensive is for the F Series N55.

No problem. Excellent choice of brand though. They make a great CP.

Hi,
E chassis ER charge pipes had the option to add/remove meth bungs

F chassis ER pipes have the meth bungs included for the standard price, they are capped in case you do not plan on using them.

you can tap a boost reference off one of the bungs if you want to do a single injection point for Meth/Water. As a reason to do 2 bungs vs one.

A few questions:

No clue - your car is a 5.2 V7..... - right?

And on a more serious note - get it with the meth bungs. Nice to have that option.

Just to clarify with everyone, the top link is actually the correct F30 charge pipe, and the bottom one is the E90 - he got this switched.

Now I'm seeing conflicting info regarding the default number of bungs on er's site vs x-ph's.

On Evolution Racewerk's official site, it says all F30 charge pipes come default with 2 meth bungs: http://evolutionracewerks.com/node/313

On Extreme Powerhouse's site, for seemingly the same model, it says they all come with one meth bung, with the option of paying more for two:https://x-ph.com/evolution-racewerks...rge-pipes-n55/
I did not see the option for adding two in the checkout though.

I need to do more research as to why two could be nice to have. I guess I'm gonna wait until I research methanol a bit more.

Can anyone confirm from personal experience the default number of bungs that came on your ER F30 N55 charge pipe?

I should have been more specific. The cheap link was to the E Series N55 and the more expensive is to the F Series N55.

iirc, several years ago you ordered the extra bung in the Options, but now they just come with 2 bungs standard. Probably easier inventory with less SKUs. Or maybe that was the E Series only. Regardless, it's a mute point now.

After many years in the E series and meth bung debacle we encouraged ER to consider just leaving the meth bungs as standard. This improved their production times and made it easier for inventorying. Win/Win for everyone.

It would also be even that much more skus on the F series platform which has different Auto Manual and X Drive differences.
