SSTT review - thorough - With Entertaining pics!!
SO NOW THAT I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION......... time for a thorough review. Disclaimer to stealerships: This is a review of a product that does not void warranty and was not installed on my vehicle, just writing a review of it.. Pre-install Story Review near the bottom if you want to skip this In the beginning......there was dinosaur..... then there was man... then there was man with SSTT! So Thanks to pdjafari and his lightning fast shipping I received my SSTT today.... I was at work and checked this morning at 8...this is what I saw at the USPS website... I was like Since I was at work, and had driven quite a while to get there, figured might as well stay until 12-1PM - ish.... So time went by..... took forever....but it finally got there Just calmly walked out of my office...like nothing was happening dance: got into my car...and gunned it to the speed limit! which was 65...slowly crept up to 70ish and stayed until I reached home.... Saw it was in the mail!! wooohooo! Review SSTT Install: Ok so I saw the instructions and I've seem them before, knew where the sensor was and everything. No problem. Turns out that you have to use some sort of a wedging device to open it, right? So I get a small screw driver, and try to pry it open with one hand down there....WOW - that was hard for someone with fairly big hands - I'm not exactly small but I'm not that Big either. Only 6'1" at about 165lbs~ So I managed to squeeze both my hands down there and try to use the other one to grab the TMAP sensor...great now my hands are stuck....AHHH!!! Felt like I was trapped! So it's been like 10-15mins already and I'm working up a sweat and get fed up with the whole squeeze your hand thru. I get my eletric drill and clamp on the nut unscrewer and zzzzzzz zzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzz remove the cowl and that air filter thingy.... *sigh* of relief After that, it was a sinch! piece of cake really... .....just a little messy with removing the cowl and all that other stuff....but I was used to it so took like 5mins Part 2 of the Review The Drive So I finally pack everything up nice and neat and hit the road, top down sunglasses+hat.... I've recently found a private-ish road that has barely any traffic, IF ANY.... So I wait a few minutes to see if there are any cars on it...nope none, looks like the coast is clear! It basically looked like this: I turn right onto the road...and slowly accelerate the first few secs, then I stomp it! WAIT WTF happened?? I Felt like my snails were really snailing down! a few seconds later....they actually kicked in and the road began to look like this I realized I was already hitting triple digits and slowed down. I also noticed the top was giving me alot more drag so I pulled over, and 22secs later...transformed...to a coupe... went back down that same stretch of road and noticed it did feel a bit faster but then I recalled the mention of it having to adapt and the lag.... Sad that it would take some time, I decided to go for a drive to a small town nearby....very archaic looking buildings...and very old-style looking housing. I was in DS mode - usually in this mode to conserve gas but also have my throttle at my response when needed... - approaching a signal. I was meh, let's just keep driving a little longer before I hate the highway.... I'm in first....slowly accelerate to apprx 25mph.....then I kind of tapped the accelerated a bit harder and next you know....! My jaw dropped in response to hearing the tires holding on the pavement for dear life! I quickly shifted to 2nd as other vehicles around me were a bit startled...and seeing the theme of this town, mainly old folk around.... I kept my pace average and slowly made my way to the highway....still shocked that my tires barely hung on at 25mph...never had that happen before and DSC was on!! I had not hit the DTC switch or anything...just started the car and drove.... as you can tell from the pic below, we have very wide freeways/highways... decided to stay within the speed limit with a few WOT runs getting onto the freeway....WOW it was slowly adapting but it felt like I had a rocket attached to my E93!! I immediately slowed down and went back to the isolated road...a few more WOT runs and I was convinced It HAD made my E93 quicker! With my Dual Cone Intakes, I definitely could hear the turbos spool (you're luckiy I referenced you spool) better....definitely felt like a winner....still knew that it needed more time to adapt but man!! All in all, a very good investment. Easy install now that I figured it out, and very efficient! All things that have a beginning have an end, and this my friends is the end of my review Hope you Enjoyed it! El Fin. Also did a small burnout before I got home...shhh! oh for those of you who lost interest.... Last edited by darkphantom; 07-14-2008 at 05:21 PM.. |

If you look closely at her chest area, you can see exactly what the temperature it was...looks like it was about 71 degrees in the room.
All joking aside, I thought it was a funny review. Thanks! |

That was by far one of the MOST entertaining reads ever on this forum. Great review. Thanks for taking the time to put that together.
