bluetooth help needed w/ passkey

I've just purchased a 325I / 2005 used. I'm trying to connect my Treo 650 with the bluetooth already installed in the car. The Treo discovers the device form the vehicle, it's just that I don't know the password. The manual says that I should have it in the manual but is no where to be foud. I tried the last 4 and 5 digits of the VIN, but still did not work.
Can anyone please help?
Thank you, Kim

bluetooth help needed w/ passkey

I tried the 1212 and still did not work. It may be because I have already my Treo paired up with my ear bluetooth (Motorola) and already exhausted the 0000 passcode?
I did not buy any software from the dealer...it's just that when I got in the car with my Treo it did discover the bluetooth, just can't connect because this passkey.....
Thanks,
Kim

As far as I've known, you can enter any 4 digits. Make sure you also enter the same number on the car keypad. 1 2 3 4 are good digits too.

Check with a BMW dealer. On the new E90 the passkey is any 4 digits. However, when I was having BT issues before BMW issues a software fix, I saw on a thread that in the past each car required a unique passkey and if you lose it, you can find it on the BT box in the car.

What do you mean by the car "keypad"? I don't know exactely what I need to do on the car side....the bluetooth came installed. I didn;t have to do anything, so I don't know how to proceed to this "keypad". Please advise. THanks, Kim

I think this may be your problem....to pair phones it will ask for a passcode (either on your phone or car) when it does enter any number you please (i usually use a 4 digit number; ex 1234) next enter that same number on either the phone or the car. i never had a special car passcode to start, the passcode you make up just has to be entered on both your car and phone. hope this helps.
