Excited (for my wife) about getting our (her) G05

Thanks to all the members of this forum for sharing their experiences and collective expertise regarding the new G05. I started lurking here back in the summer and learned all I could about features, options, packages, pricing, and anything else I could glean so I could be an informed buyer. You guys and gals didn't disappoint. By the time I was ready to actually place an order, I was way ahead of my CA on virtually every aspect of the car. No doubt this gave me an advantage in negotiation as well as getting exactly the build I wanted. We've opted for PCD and will pick up my wife's G05 on February 11. (I picked up my car in Munich on the European Delivery program so now I will have had both experiences.) Planning a nice car trip home visiting friends and family along the way. Feeling pretty lucky at the moment.

Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to all our G05 community. All the best in the new year.

I'm only doing it to see my wife driving on the skidpad.

Actually, info from this forum led to the decision to go fetch. Our European Delivery experience was so fun and members' posts about PCD made me realize that picking up in South Carolina is special too, just in a different way.

After your post I asked my wife what her favorite feature of our new G05 was (we took delivery last night) - she says the seat feel/comfort was the best (we got the multi-contour seats). Kids like the ambient lighting ($80k for blue lights? yup).

Northern California. The trip will be almost 3,000 miles.
We will be stopping along the way and plan to average only 300 mi a day so it shouldn't be too bad. I've always wanted to drive across country and here's the chance to do so without having to drive both ways.

Absolutely. I'd consider various nothern routes in the summer but not in February. We have friends in Texas, NM, AZ, and Southern California to see along the way so the non-snow route makes the most sense anyway.

I had to ask the CA what it was. Someone is selling smokers package for a sarcastic sum of $999.00. I'd let mine go for free.

You should check out Greenville while you’re in the area. The area around the PC isn’t much but downtown Greenville is pretty cool. It’s no SanFran of course but still pretty nice.

We will do that. Thanks. We are staying in the area a second night so we can take the 2 hour factory tour the day after PCD. That will give us time to look around the area.

Very cool - take pics during the factory tour (if you can) and report back here about the experience!

Congrats. Can't wait to see all of the pictures.
I am thinking of doing the same when I order my G05.

I will if they let me. On PCD day, a Monday, they only give the shorter (1 hour) tour I'm told. Also, they only allow 2 people, owner and one additional person, to participate. I have a good friend in Rock Hill who wanted to join us so we booked the 2 hour plant tour on Tuesday so he could participate in the experience. I told him I was buying his ticket but warned him that it might cost him because he will want a new X5 after the tour. He's already got a 3er and an X3 in the household so he's headed the right direction. Anyway, I'll get a total of 3 hours at the plant over 2 days.
