Log help: HPFP Or Something else? 29DC and 29CE
Hello,
So my 2007 335i with MHD BEF and JB4 Map 5 for 91 oct is giving me 29DC cylinder injection shutdown and 29CE misfirings cyl 2 repeatedly after clearing and driving. Plugs, coils, new index 12 inejctors coded and installed just prior, it drove fine for a couple days and now this. Previously cyl 4 had a fouled plug and I fixed a VCG/OFHG leak so everything was replaced. It cranks fine after clearing codes. It misfires and throws those codes on the first pull after clearing with a SES light, logged with SES and it looks like stock boost mode and engine is rough and loud like its down on one cylinder. Logs during the misfire attached and show HPFP dip to 4 and 5 a few times while LPFP is consistently 75 to 50s by the end of the run. Is this slam dunk HPFP or should I get a compression test since its always cylinder 2? No other codes after replacing plugs, coils, injectors and it ran beautifully after that for a few days, could it be fresh injectors finally taxed the old HPFP? 138k miles and had HPFP replaced around 20-25k miles under warranty https://datazap.me/u/ravi/29dc-29ce-...1-4-9-10-14-17 Any advice appreciated! Swap around coils and plugs first, see if problem stays on #2 or follows plug/coil, do compression test while there. Can try the same with injectors. In other words, a little bit of troubleshooting should help confirm things.

I like to swap parts to the other bank (cyl 1-3= bank 1 and cyl 4-6= bank 2.) Definitely do a dry and wet compression test when you have the plug out. Mike |
