When do the first hand wax of a G05?

I am not current on BMW paints, so is there a waiting period before the first hand wax?

I have always been told 30 days by body shops for anything I ever had painted, would assume it is the same for a factory paint job but from the time it was painted to delivery is probably at least 2-3 weeks so by the time you have it should be close to 4 weeks.

It's been said that a paint job that was oven cured correctly, can be waxed immediately.

No idea but I've never waited before doing so. I'm hoping a fully ceramic coating will remove the need for anything other than detailing and washing.

By the time the car reaches you, it should have out-gassed and be fine for waxing or other LSP.

^^^Bingo. Your paint is ready for its protective coating. I just did a full P21 wax/detail of mine. Being in this time of year with snow and salt, it is important to get that paint protected ASAP. I am waxing my wheels today.

I zaino’d my X5 immediately as well. Lucked out with warm weather the day after pickup. Nothing back breaking - a quick wash/polish and ready for winter.

I found 1-2 small areas that had minor scuffing. Used a very light compound on a microfiber cloth and hand buffed out - removed easily. Good call to hit the wheels.

These cars are fully cured by the time they reach the dealership. Where you have to wait 30 days is usually from a paint and body shop because most don't have the curing booths and need to let the paint go through all the off gassing. I ceramic coated mine and PPF right after delivery like I have the past 8 previous BMW's and never have had a problem.
