Connected Apps

Decided to take a stab at connected apps fix - talked to Genius and they said it is widespread and known on the G05's - they tried the basic update and reboot and then said to call the dealership and specifically have them open a Puma case for telematics is what they are asking people to do which will open a case with BMWNA and track it to hopefully resolution.

He said it affects all the apps, news, weather etc, send destination to car and possibly the wifi hotspot will not work either.

I have to go get my inspection sticker so will see if they will open a Puma case on it and will report back later today.

I'm having the same issue.. no apps and won't even let me login to my driver profile anymore... car has been at dealership since Friday... will update u guys if my dealer tells me anything today...

PS I already had an "escalated ticket" with BMWNA and they emailed Friday basically telling me to take it to the dealer

I can login to my profile that works for me and other communication, all the connected app stuff like remote start works, just no apps and no send to car stuff. Talked to my SA and she said they had another one same issues they are working on, to open a PUMA case they have to run it through the shop and would have taken an hour, so declined that for now as they had another one already in the system and will keep me up to date on it if they get it working.

I'll do the same with my CA. I also tripped over send destination bug today... no dice. The more people raise these issues (vs sitting and seeing what happens) the faster this stuff will get addressed.

One thing I'm not doing at this point is bringing my car in - I'm having way too much fun driving it!

I just came from meeting with my "genius". We called the Genius help line and they said they weren't aware of any known issues with apps not showing up. The Genius my Genius called just had us do the apps update but no luck. Supposedly there's a case open and the mother ship will get back to me at some point. Maybe... Grrrrr...

Course of action is to:

a) Call a BMW Genius and see if they can resolve: 844-443-6487

b) Call or email your CA/Sales Person and ask them to open a PUMA Case on your behalf if "a" doesn't work.

Just called the 'Genius' line and got a similar response (update then reboot). Will be interesting if anyone gets it fixed at the dealer..

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one. It's so irritating especially since it affects CarPlay and listening to Apple Music. I hope a fix comes soon. Going to take my X5 to the dealer in the AM to see if they can fix it.

My car has been at the dealership since Friday for this same issue of no apps and I can't even login to my driver profile anymore, they updated the software then hard reset it, then spent all day today with BMWNA emailing and talking and just when we thought we had it solved it still wouldn't log me in, so my CA called it a day and will go at it again tomorrow. Will update u guys if anything happens tomorrow

I only have two apps but everything else seems to work. I found the dealer didnt bluetooth my phone correctly so i disconnected and reconnected with the carplay and it works fine now. I have not reboot anything.

Just picked up my car after being at the dealership for a week, I'm able to login to my profile finally (BMWNA had to remotely login to the car and do a super had reset apparently), and my software was updated to .49, and now all the apps and bmw store are showing up FINALLY, never saw these since taking delivery 12/14... the only thing not working is iphone app functions now but I saw a different thread about all this and supposedly to be fixed in 1-3 days.. so I'm just glad to pick the car up

Others posted it started working, so I did the update software and manual reset of idrive and now mine all loaded and are working fine first time they have ever worked - seems BMW has fixed something!
