I think BMW keeps the old ones (if done under warranty). I know they did when I had a turbo replaced on the first 335.

I think you have to ask for them back or they will remanufacture them and resell them again. We really need as set for our next project.

BMW keeps all warranty items, They send the stuff back to BMW for evaluation.
