Weather widget

I tried to add the weather widget but it is not present in the options list. Do I need to contact the dealer for a software upgrade?

Your car haves internet connection ? Did you tried update services on the apps menu ?

Yes, car has internet connection but I don't see the update services option on the apps menu.

Click the option button when under the apps menu

Did that. It said apps and services updated but still no weather widget. Guess I will have to check with the dealer.

I had same. Had to call bmw help desk and they sent kind of forced update on air and immediately solved

There are a few threads here on Connected Drive and Apps. A known issue exists where some owners only have two apps appearing on the Apps screen and among the missing apps is the "Weather App" - needed for the widget.

See below. First image = issue, all but two apps missing. Second image shows all apps and is "normal".

Course of action is to:

a) Call a BMW Genius and see if they can resolve: 844-443-6487

b) Call or email your CA/Sales Person and ask them to open a PUMA Case on your behalf if "a" doesn't work.

OP, just FYI the above procedure posted my Jay did not work for me. I watched the video with a BMW genius and it did not work.

My only option is to call a BMW Genius as the other option did not work. Thanks everyone for the help.

Call them but they will walk you through the video steps which won’t work then will tell you it is a know issue and to contact dealer to open a case so it is tracked. Talked to my dealer and they have several cars with the issue. So long story short, seems like currently there is no fix yet.

I am not sure if this has been solved or not. But I have a solution and it worked for mine.

I was actually calling the service for connected drive issue. They told me to reboot the system, which is to hold the vol/on off button for approximately 20-30 seconds. The system will reboot and you will need login to your connected drive profile. After trying that, the weather comes back on the home screen. Hope that helps.
