BMW Performance Exhaust - RELEASED (for coupe)
Edited: A little birdie told me it is now available for the coupes. I may pull the trigger today.
--------------------------------------------------- So, here's the part # 18 10 0 445 634 (coupe) 18 10 0 443 579 (sedan) It's got to be available SOON, as on BMWUSA.com now, you can build your BMW with the option checked! Someone post up when they can get ahold of one. I'll probably wait to see until Tischer can get it since they will likely have a good price (well, better than the oxygen gasping price on the BMW build page...hell, the Porsche factory performance exhaust for their cars is only like $300 more) Last edited by ezatnova; 08-06-2008 at 11:37 AM.. |

In all seriousness though, I believe the difference will become apparant at WOT. After all, golf tee, 29.2, or pre 29.2 stock, all go open-flap at WOT, and the performance exhaust will be louder (I'm assuming) at WOT. I bet at cruise, it incorporates the flap again (it better for that friggin $) and is pretty quiet, which is a nice thing IMHO. |

I don't think that exhaust is worth the money, at all.

+1. Someone locate a sound clip of this exhaust. I think I would have ordered it on my 335 if it was available last year.

Watch the performance exhaust just be them just doing the golf tee mod, changing the tips and install the new software.

I am trying to remember where I heard this from, but I heard that the construction material for the exhaust isn't all that great.

What are you trying to say? Did you mean to say, "I think the exhaust is worth the money because it is warrantied by BMW"...?

The stock exhaust sounds great at WOT. There is a local road warrior 335i, that tears around here locally. The moment he sees me he goes WOT. The sound is intoxicating. He is completely stock.
But he doesn't have the burble, I love that freaking burble!

Sounds about like the difference between the coupe and sedan exhausts to me with the stock 135 being the sedan type sound. I've never heard the 135 in person though. I'm assuming it sounds fairly similar to a 335 sedan.
If the 135 stock sounds like the 335 coupe the performance exhaust is a lot louder than I thought it would be. On a side note, if BMW is offering a high flow performance exhaust doesn't this kind of weaken their argument to some extent on things like the golf tee mod and cat backs being grounds to deny warranty work. I know DP's are still fair game for denial and I'm kind of with them on that but, I've read a few posts on them giving people a hard time just for the golf tee mod which just seems like major BS. |
