Color heads up display is awesome. Here is a pic

The color heads up display is by far the sharpest display I have ever seen. Color is crisp as well. I tried to take a pic of the navigation in the heads up display but because of camera strobing you only get to see part of it. You don’t need to look down at the nav screen with displays this good in the heads up display. This is next gen technology that actually improves and simplifies your driving experience.

Here's my pic! Lane guidance was unexpected and very awesome! I also like the SiriusXM scrolling to find good songs. It might just make me renew those services!

The HUD in general is unwanted by you , or the new tech in the G05 HUD?

Wow! That looks awesome!. I had the HUD on my F15, but decided not to get it on the G05. Now I'm thinking I should have gotten it.

The HUD is amazing. I use the built in NAV mainly because of it.

I've read a couple posts where people don't like HUD. It has become a necessity for me. I do robotic surgery and I'm used to staring at a screen with data layered over live images. Love it!!!

I had a 5 series loaner with that HUD and the X5 is bigger and the graphics are vastly improved.

I don't recall what it was like from my test drives but that would be nice. The current one I have is very sharp so I'm not sure how much better you could make it

HD is 1280*720 and FHD is 1920*1080 I highly doubt it's any of those resolutions but I get you're point. even the instrument panel and infotainment screen aren't HD by definition. I called BMW and asked for the technical specs of all 3 displays (resolution, size of the hud etc) and the G01 X3 to see how big of a change it is. I'll gladly share what I find out so we all know. I'm glad they made the HUD bigger

Pretty sure it's 1920x720 for the 12.3" displays. The 1440p versions are too new to be mainstream at this point, I'm guessing

Too much information and too many screens can be distracting; that's the feeling I sometimes get while driving the new Audi's in the family and comparing it to the mostly analog dials of my older 740Li.

You can limit what is displayed on the HUD. I had a route guidance activated to see the map in the HUD. It’s not normally there. I also turned off my speed warning form my HUD.
